Finally!

I have now finished the second glass panel for Mum and Dad's door. Ta-da! What a relief, they match enough. I am very, very pleased with these pieces, and now all that is to be done is the double glazing enclosure. And, of course, Dad has to make the door to put them in! Much swearing has assisted me in the construction stage, especially when cutting long, thin, flower stalks in ancient green glass. But that's all in the past now, so I will happily go back to making small glass birds for the meanwhile. Enjoy July, pack your waders!

One of last year's pieces, installed in an outside door. It has been enclosed inside a double glazing panel so that it is weather-proof.

You may have noticed that I have posted up some links to books in the sidebar. I wanted to let you see what books I reference for patterns or inspiration, and using a link to Amazon seemed to be the easiest way to do it.

I do have a lot of crafting books, as well as reading books (and now a pile of Kindle books too!), so I will add to the list as time allows.

Of course, many of the books I link to come from our library, so please remember to check yours out! I have found it very helpful to be able to see what you're getting before deciding to actually buy, as some books are very disappointing in content.

Hats and Spoony Fabric Delight!

Wow, I had a busy evening Sunday.

Look - 3 crochet baby hats! This is what happens if you go sick, and don't have to run around looking after small children - time to do stuff!!














2 have been distributed to local friends' fairly small babies, and the third is waiting for anyone to have a newborn. I don't know any at the moment. I'm sure, like buses, several will be along shortly.

And now, to reveal my first Spoonflower print - received in the mail today with great excitement by me and No. 2 - da-da!:












Apple pie anyone? She already bagged it though: 'can you make me a quilt with that apples Mummy?' I'm considering it. Maybe one apple. I don't really want to share it. Let me know what you think! Off to Stich 'n' Bitch this evening, so I have to find something to do...... Maybe show and tell?

Do something creative every day

Hello

Me and the small ones made flowers today (thanks to an idea from kidscraftweekly.com) and continued the theme by planting sunflower seeds - we're hoping for GIANTS !!!!

I would highly recommend that you try a creative activity for yourself, your partner, or your other family members - we always really enjoy making stuff, even if things don't turn out how you expect them to! Personally, I find myself more settled if I have made something during the day - even if it's something I cooked - not necessarily one of my crafty interests.
